You Don't Want a Unicorn!
Ame Dyckmkan, illustrations by Liz Climo
Little, Brown Books
Fiction, YA Picture Book
**** (Good)
DESCRIPTION: You might be tempted to toss a penny into the fountain and wish yourself a unicorn friend, but don't do it. They're far more trouble than you think, as
one unicorn-loving boy discovers the hard way.
REVIEW: This fun little book examines the down sides to an exotic pet. Sure, it's fun to ride on rainbows, but that horn really does a number on furniture
and drywall, not to mention the shedding and housebreaking issues. It reads quickly and generates laughs, with bright and whimsical images.
